They completed a very complex set of work on my truck:
My dashboard brake light was on, so I went to Black Bear because the review were good. I was told I needed brakes pads and rotors costing about $1,000, and that they could get me in the next day. I thought that was a little too much money. I called the Subaru dealer and was told that they don’t replace rotors any more and the brake job would be about $360. When I brought it in I was told that my brakes were fine and that the “gunky” brake fluid was causing the brake light to flash. They added new brake fluid and only charged me $55. That was 6 weeks ago. The light has not come on.
I took my car to my guy when he got back and he confirmed the issue was the same as the guy told me but the price was a 1/3 less then what they told me. that's a big difference for doing the same thing and the warranty i got is twice as long then what they had. So I'm sorry but your highest quality parts from the parts store down the road known for cheap parts just didn't cut it this time.
I went there and had them check out my exhaust system which needed replacing, was quoted over 1k
Came recommended by someone who knows this area & knows cars & I was not disappointed at all. They fixed an issue that the dealership & several other mechanics couldn't. They were also incredibly courteous! So happy to have found our official local mechanic after living here for 4+ yrs. taking another vehicle there soon
-Engine replacement, including several new accessories.
Walked outta there as fast as possible and went to another shop who replaced the whole system for 450. This place is obviously over priced.
Im sure the techs are good and do good work but dont overcharge your customers on parts with a smile.
They juggled scheduling (mine/theirs) to get everything done before holiday break. They would not say the job was complete until all details were sorted out.
In the Bristol area, this is the right shop to do business with.
-Plow accessory repair.
I told the person who recommended them and they where shocked to say the least and wont be going back either.
Its a nice place to be sure but i was in shell shock when they came back with the cost of repairs. My entail gut feeling was something wasn't right from the phone was reassured in person. so i left. I watched the guy talking with customers and arrogant is all i thought.
They Guy i regularly deal with at the shop i trust was on vaca and of course my car decided to act up. I was recommended to take my car down to see these guys, i called first and was kind of put off by the way the guy who answered the phone but i still opted to give them a chance..
My Dodge Ram V10 can be a tough one to find parts for but they did not fail to find and install everything it needed.
-Exhaust pipe repair.
